Identifying a mould's degree of difficulty
We're not strangers to blank mould gauges. For the longest time, we've been manufacturing these fine instruments. Our aim is to make products that match our clients' specifications. Due to our commitment towards them, customers always choose us when they need a gauge.
Moulds present repair technicians with a slew of issues. It's the same for the products they create. This makes categorising every mould with a degree of difficulty necessary. As a result of the classification, you can do efficient mould repairs. You should base your degree of difficulty score on a mixture of these mould attributes.
The first attribute is type. In-mould assembly, two-shot, rotary, and stack are all complicated mould varieties. They require precision methods and skills to repair them. You also need a decent level of processing knowledge.
Another characteristic is tolerances. Close-tolerance tooling heightens the amount of hassle during each repair phase. You must implement cleaning, measuring, handling, and fitting methods more precisely. You'll have to be careful here as well. This is if you want to avoid creating component problems through burrs and scratches.
Tooling and plates
There could be an abundance of plates and tooling inside a mould. If this is the case, then maintenance will become more involved and lengthy. This is simply for the bench space and volume necessary.
Some moulds come with hot runner systems. They are typically harder to work with due to tooling stacks and electrical issues. The close fits with manifold modules and thermal expansion also cause problems here.
At Penico Gauges, we deliver the highest level of service in addition to the greatest blank mould gauges. Customers reward us for this with repeat service. Many even go on to recommend us to others. As a result we have become one of the leaders in our field.
