Used
to check the shape and size of the dovetail cutout. It gauges only the
two surfaces indicated by the bold contact points and consists of a fixed
and moveable member which is held in proper engagement with the cutout
by spring tension. The surface end of the gauge in which the moveable
member slides is devided into two steps and the cutout is correct when
the face of the moveable member is flush with either the step or between
the two steps.
